For half a century, Goodwill Industries of Central Texas has relied upon the community to recycle their used goods to help generate funds for our mission. That mission is to assist people with disabilities and disadvantaging conditions gain competitive employment. In 1997 GICT began accepting electronic donations, we discovered great treasures and began collecting computer artifacts. Soon we had a collection of significant value and thus the Goodwill Computer Museum was founded. Read more about the museum. >>
A total of 178 people came to Goodwill’s Computer Museum on Saturday, September 13 for Museum Day.
Museum-goers had the chance to explore the Museum’s new exhibits and vintage computers, like the new environmental exhibit and the PDP-8/S from the 1960s, which is in the process of being refurbished and restored.

There were interactive exhibits such as the popular Atari Flashback games for visitors to play with as well as fun photo opportunities in front of the e-guys, or statues build out of recycled computer parts. The day drew in a much larger crowd than last year.
Congratulations to our Computer Museum for such a wonderful showing!
